Zero Value Valuations: The Reasons & Your Options
We understand that parting with your old devices can be difficult, and our goal at MacFinder is to provide a fair and accurate valuation for your trade-in. However, in some cases, our inspection process may reveal technical faults that make your device uneconomical to repair, resulting in a trade-in valuation of £0. Here's why this can happen and what your options are.
Why has my trade-in valuation been revised to £0?
Our experienced technicians go through an extensive list of hardware and condition checks to evaluate the functionality of your device thoroughly. We assess a variety of hardware components, including but not limited to the speakers, microphones, headphone jack, optical drives/DVD bays, battery health and charging, USB ports, SD card slots, thunderbolt ports, mini display ports, HDMI ports, ethernet ports, wifi, Bluetooth, webcam, keyboard, keyboard backlight, trackpad, Touch ID, and Touch Bar. These checks help us identify any technical faults with your device.
If our inspection process reveals technical faults that make your device uneconomical to repair, we may need to revise your trade-in valuation to £0. Technical faults that could lead to a £0 trade-in valuation include but aren't limited to severe liquid damage, damaged logic boards, or significant external or internal damage.
What are my options if my trade-in valuation is £0?
We understand that receiving a trade-in valuation of £0 can be disappointing, but we offer several options to help you dispose of your device responsibly.
-
We can recycle your device for you. At MacFinder, we believe in responsible recycling, and we work with certified recyclers to dispose of devices in an environmentally friendly way.
